I’m a very harsh critic when it comes to product reviews, I’ve never once given a product more than 3 stars within the last 5 years. In this review, I’ll go in depth to explain why I gave this product 4.5 out of 5 stars. This is by far my top choice when it comes down to teeth whitening products for several reasons.

Best Teeth Whitening Kit I’ve Used To This Day

What’s the most important thing when it comes to any product? The Results! Below is a close up picture of my teeth after using the True Whitening kit for 2 weeks straight, the end result was simply phenomenal!

Before I purchased this kit (Yes, all the products I review, I pay for) I was pretty skeptical, especially since the company claims on  their website that you’ll see “up to 11 shade difference”, honestly I wasn’t going to purchase it but because the company had such an awesome refund policy (which I’ll get into later) I said screw it and purchased it and as you can see from the results above it was money well spent.

The best part about it is these results can last up to 2 years, but as they’ve stated on their website, this is entirely dependent on your diet. So if you’re a smoker or drink staining beverages like coffee, wine or tea regularly then I highly doubt your results will last for the full 2 years. Even though I don’t consume any of those things I would still be surprised if my results last more than six months but only time will tell. I’ll update this post new pictures once I hit the 6-month mark.

Anyway, this kit can also be used up to 20 times before needing a replacement. Also, it takes only 10-15 minutes max to start seeing noticeable results where other kits usually take hours.

Don’t Let The Cost Fool You!

I’ve been reviewing teeth whiners for over 5 years now (yes I’m addicted ?) and if it’s one thing that I’ve learned is that the saying “you get what you pay for” is 100% accurate. Any product I’ve tried that was under $20 was a total disappointment!

In my personal opinion, the second most important thing about any product is the cost. No matter how good a product “claims” to be if it’s too expensive then what’s the point? And if it’s too cheap then there is most likely something wrong with it (like harmful ingredients). For example, the crest whitening strips (which I no longer recommend, you can read why here) is around $40-$89, this is the average price you can expect to pay for a “decent” whitening product. The True Whitening kit on the other hand only cost 49.99 + Free 3-Day Shipping but with the current promotion, you can get it for 7.95 if you are a first-time customer so right off the bat you are spending less compared to other bleaching kits such as the crest whitening strips. The results I got from using this kit is 5x better than what I got from the Crest Whitening Strips.

The reason why this product is cheaper compared to other high-end bleaching kits comes down to the fact that this kit does not come in a fancy box, etc.. To keep cost down they simply focus on the product quality which I certainly don’t mind.

How Safe Is It? (Ingredients)

This is something that is commonly overlooked but is highly important. As most of you probably already know this, most big brands such as crest, Colgate, etc… use cheaper ingredients because it helps cut down on cost and increase profit margins.

This is NOT the approach True Whitening has taken, instead, as I mentioned before they use simple packing that significantly reduces the cost without sacrificing the quality of the product.

According to their website, this company is the only company that sells dental bleaching products that contain NO animal products what so ever and also does not have any toxic fillers or additives. As a matter of fact, their product is Vegan and Kosher certified.

To most of you that might not seem like a big deal but trust me it is if you’ve ever whitened your teeth before some of you might know how painful it can be, specifically when it comes to gum irritation. Research shows that one of the main reason for gum irritation when it comes to teeth bleaching is due to the animal fat commonly found in commercial whitening gel formulas. This kit does not contain any ingredients derived from animals so this would explain why I got significantly less irritation than I usually get from other whitening products.

The main ingredient that ALL dentist use when performing teeth bleaching is carbomide peroxide, this is exactly what’s found in the True Whitening kit and unlike other commercial bleaching products, their whitening gel is made in the U.S in FDA regulated facility’s and is NOT sourced from China or some other foreign overseas country’s. The reason why this is important is due to quality control and overall health safety.

No LED Required

Another great thing I almost forgot to mention is that this kit does not require you to use the LED light if you don’t want to, unlike other products. The point of the LED is to activate the carbomide peroxide gel but True Whitening is using their own special high concentrations formulation of carbamide peroxide which does not need to be activated with the blue LED light.

I personally find those LED lights pretty annoying because I always find myself drooling a lot (but that might just be me) and because 90 percent of these LED light comes from China which most likely has some traces of lead paint or other toxic chemicals (there is no real way to tell) like illustrated in this article, so I choose to stay away from them.

This kit uses dentist grade carbamide peroxide, the gel alone is enough to get your teeth super white. If for whatever reason you do happen to want to add an LED you can use the one it comes with but from the results that I’ve gotten personally, I can tell you that won’t be necessary.

They Have A 30 Day Refund Policy

The first thing I check before purchasing any product is to make sure they have a good refund policy if you’ve read my other reviews about other products you’ll know that this is HIGHLY IMPORTANT!

This company has the best refund policy’s that I’ve seen offered thus far. The company offers a full 30-day money back guarantee if you don’t see results. This is a true testament of a company standing behind their product.

  • 30 Day Double Money Back Guarantee If You Don’t Get Results
  • (2) Dentist Grade Carbamide Peroxide Gel
  • Use up to 20 times before purchasing another one.
  • See results in as little as 10-15 minutes.
  • Vegan & Kosher certified.
  • Fairly priced
  • Free 3 Day Shipping
  • No fillers or additives
  • Whitening gel created fresh daily which leads to better and faster results.
  • Up to 11 shades difference
  • Results lat 2-years (I don’t really believe that, but only time will tell)

  • The packaging does not look as nice as other brands (this is not really a con per se )
  • You have to use the peroxide gel within a 6 month period.
  • Usually out of stock!

That’s about it, I have yet to find any major flaw when it comes to this product and it does what it should do and that whitens your teeth. Out of the 35+ whitening product’s I’ve used over the past 5 years I am comfortable in saying that this is one of the best teeth whitening kit currently available as well as one of my favorite teeth whitening kit reviews I’ve done.

Great review like always Lisa, I haven’t heard of them but I’ll check them out once i’m ready to whiten my teeth again..

  • Ms.Jane says:

    Your teeth look amazing!

  • Danny says:

I’ve dealt with this company before, I purchased a whitening kit but it did not work for me due to the fact that I have translucent teeth due to bad enamel (which means no whitening product will work in my case) which is a real bummer.

BUT, the good news is they honored their double money back guarantee without any hassle so if you are looking to whiten your teeth I would suggest going with this company since I’m sure that my case is rare and the average person wouldn’t have any problems but if you do, it’s good to know that they stay true to their word as far as their double refund is concerned.

  • Dark Morth says:

  • LA Goddess says:

Hey Lisa, do you know where I can find any discount codes?

  • Marie Johsnon says:
    4 stars

I actually purchased this exact kit last year, surprisingly my teeth are still fairly white but then again I am vegan and don’t really eat acidic foods such as meat so that might be the reason why…

  • Brenda R. Roberts says:

Your results are indeed impressive, how many applications did it take you?

  • Linda Thomas says:
    5 stars

I use to use the crest 3d 1-hour kit but I switched over to the true whitening kit since the irritation is not as bad as how it was with crest products.

I could barely wear the crest strips for the full 30 minutes because of the gum irritation. With the true whitening kit, yes I did get a bit of irritation but it was nowhere near as bad as the crest white strips plus the True White kit came with a vitamin e swab which pretty much made the irritation nonexistent.

Plus I like the results I got from the True White kit better so I’m not as much of a loss.

  • Marcus Brown says:

wow your beautiful, marry me ?

  • Ty says:

I just placed an order today with them hopefully all goes well!

  • Missy T says:

Hey lisa, can you tell me how often do you perform maintenance whitenings (assuming that you do)?

  • Adam says:
    4 stars

    Defiantly recommend true whitening.

I was missing the applicator tip from my order and got it overnighted to me for free and as for the results, I was impressed to say the least

  • Bonny says:

great review lisa and I love your smile

  • Annette says:

Lisa, a lot of the products that you review only ship to the U.S. Can you please review or at least recommend a whitening product for us international folks?

    • Lisa says:

Hi Annette, Sorry I can’t really recommend anything as of now since all the whitening products that I’ve tested use peroxide and from my understanding, if you live in the U.K peroxide whitening products can only be administered by a dentist whereas here in the U.S we don’t have such laws.

I’ll make sure that the next product I review is a non-hydrogen peroxide based product and I’ll also make sure that they ship to the U.K. But just so you know non-hydrogen peroxide-based whitening products do not work as well as hydrogen peroxide based products.

  • S.V Randy says:
    3 stars

Well, my experience was a bit different.

I tried the product and it did work but my results were not that impressive. I will say the results were better than what I got when using the crest strips.

    Maybe it’s because I smoke?

  • Mimi says:

I just got mines in the mail today, I was surprised at how fast it came, it literally came in about 2 days.

I haven’t tried it yet since i’m super busy but I’ll let you know how it goes once I do.

  • Beauty Queen says:

Damn it, It’s been a week now and on their site it still says is “out of stock” and I cannot place an order.

Do you know if there is another site where I can purchase this kit from? or do you know of any similar alternatives?

    • Lisa says:

Hi Beauty Queen, if you can I would just wait it out, did you contact support to ask them when they’ll have more in stock?

  • Beth says:

Hey lisa, I actually found your review googling about true whitening.

Thanks for taking the time to review the product.

  • Anaheim Sally says:

Hi Lisa, do you know how often they have sells? because a few months ago I remember they were charging around $40 and that’s not including shipping?

I want to wait until payday but knowing how cheap I am, if the sale is over before I’m ready to order then I will most likely not be buying it. Once I miss a sale I’m usually like fuck it at that point and try to find something else.

  • carol may says:
    5 stars

I can vouch for the true whitening kit. I purchased this kit a week before my wedding day in 2016 and the results were fantastic. I would go as far as to say that the results are very similar to the zoom whitening that I use to get at my dentist. Definitely worth the money.

  • Marry Ann says:

    Awesome review

  • Ollie says:

I might give it a shot just because of the refund policy.

  • Coralie F. Tom says:

Are you sure this not sold at Walgreens, this brand sounds really familiar

  • Mikey The Don says:

Is the True Whitening kit the only thing you used to get your results?

    • Lisa says:

Hi Mikey, Yes, the results you see in the photos are 100% from the True Whitening Kit, nothing else was used.

  • Sybil says:
    4 stars

True whitening is definitely in my top 3 whitening products next to my crest whitening toothpaste and my ionic toothbrush.

  • Dian says:
    5 stars

    Here is my review:

So after reading and seeing lisa’s results I ordered the kit just to see if the hype is true. I only used 3 applications and my teeth already significantly whiter already. Mind you, my teeth were not bad to begin with.

    My results:

  • Glam Mistress says:

Yep, I’ve used them before, my results were pretty similar to yours.

  • Keith Fields says:

  • Daniel says:

I might check them out because of the fact that they manufacture their products in the u.s. So many companies are now manufacturing over sea which in turn hurts our economy.

  • Thelma says:

I’ll give it a shot, I’ve tried 3 different products so far with mediocre results at best.

  • Jeannie Murrell says:
    4 stars

I’ve used this kit before, I would say on a scale of 1 out of 10 I would give it a solid 8.

  • Shandi Tindell says:

Your results look amazing, I might consider giving them a shot.

  • Joan says:

    WOW, amazing lisa!

Just curious, on a scale of 1 to 5 how would you rate the gum irritation?

I know for a fact that any whitening product that uses peroxide will have some level of irritation

In the review you stated you did not experience much gum irritation compared to other kits but since you review all these products I would assume you would be able to rate the amount of irritation you experienced?

    • Lisa says:

Hi Joan, I would give it a solid 2, it’s very tolerable. When using hydrogen peroxide you’ll always feel some level of irritation even if you go to the dentist to get your whitening done. Luckily this product uses carbamide peroxide instead.

  • Roxanne says:
    5 stars

I purchased this kit before reading your review and the end result was surprisingly good.

  • Paul says:
    5 stars

Fast, easy & simple. No complaints from me.

  • Rene J. Mitchel says:

Anything over $35 seems a bit pricey to me so I’ll defiantly check them out.

  • Jimmy says:
    1 stars

For what ever reason this did not work for me!

  • Tommy says:

The price seems fair, anything over $40 is way to much for me so I’ll most likely try it out.

  • I see you says:

Do you know if you can use this of you have braces?

  • Anderson says:
    4 stars

Exceed my expectations, works much better than those piece of shit kit’s I’ve used in the past.

  • Superwoman says:
    5 stars

Defiantly works and the end results came out wonderful, I will say the only thing I don’t like about this kit is the whitening trays.

The whitening trays are “OK’, meaning they do their job. The part I hate is having to create them because if you screw up you’ll have to purchase another pair (or maybe they’ll send you it for free). This problem is not exclusive to true whitening since all whitening kits seem to have a similar procedure.

I contacted support anyways about this and they told me that they do plan on releasing a silicone version which allows you to instantly create the mouth trays without need to boil them, etc…

All in all, I still give them a 10 out of 10 since the end results was worth the trouble.

  • Ann says:

Hey lisa, great review. Please don’t forget about the 6 month update i’m really curios to know.

  • Theresa Ramirez says:
    4 stars

worked fine for me, the only thing I really didn’t like is the mint flavor (I hate mint) and that seems to be the only flavor they have. If you don’t have a problem with mint then you should be fine.

  • Mikey says:
    5 stars

Defiantly worth the $29, my teeth were pretty yellow and it did a great job overall.

    My results:

  • Lucille Torres says:
    5 stars

I brought this for my son, he has a couple of spots on his teeth that were pretty hard to remove. We’ve tried using the most expensive crest whitening strips on the market and it only had a marginal impact. Then I purchased True Whitening kit and that did the trick!

  • Henry says:

    You’re results are pretty impressive.

  • Ryan says:

    Are they a new company?

  • June Lopez says:

Just ordered 2 kits today for me and my boyfriend hopefully we get results similar to yours.

  • James says:
    1 stars

Didn’t work for me, I have a sever case of fluorosis due to too much fluoride and I used the entire kit but did not see any major results. Obviously my fluorosis played a factor in this but I would at least think that it would have helped a little bit.

  • Teresa says:

    Worth a shot

  • Robert P says:
    5 stars

  • Danyella Harkness says:

As always thanks for the in-depth review lisa I’ve never heard of this company before but their kit does seem interesting.

  • Queen Mary says:
    5 stars

I usually don’t whiten my teeth often because I have very sensitive teeth due to years of drinking soda which pretty much annihilated my enamel but I took the chance based on your review Lisa and I can confirm that sensitivity is not an issue when using this kit. I used the entire syringe in the course of 2 months without any sensitivity pain. I would highly recommend this kit for people with sensitive teeth.

  • Dan Tha Man says:

Checked their website but it seems they are out of stock.

  • Maxine Ashby says:

True Whitening kit is definitely my favorite, haven’t used another whitening kit since.

  • Gerald says:

Your results are pretty killer, are you sure this is the only thing you used?

  • Nancy TheGoddess says:

I checked their website and they do seem to be out of stock, do you think I should wait or should I just buy another whitening kit?

    • Lisa says:

Hi Nancy, have you already tried contacting their support. They should be able to tell you when they’ll have more in stock.

  • Karen Barnhart says:

If only I came across this review earlier

  • Kimmy says:
    3 stars

My package took 2 weeks to come and I contacted support and the apologized they said it was due to back orders or whatever.

That kinda pissed me off since i’m very impatient. On the other hand the kit did what it was supposed to do and I was happy with the end results.

  • StevenTejada says:

just placed an order hopefully it’s worth it.

  • Mikey Mike says:

I tried to place an order but it seems that they only ship to the u.s, do you know of any other good alternatives?

  • Lynda says:

Sorry if this is a bit of topic but what’s the name of that red purse in the background hanging on your door?

  • Kelly Jeffers says:

This kit works wonders, all you have to do is make sure to follow the instructions and be amazed!

  • Ruth Hall says:
    5 stars

I got this kit as a pre-graduation present a few years ago and I haven’t used another brand since.

  • John Chao says:
    4 stars

    It works as intended

  • Sean Stone says:

Just started using, results seem to be good but I haven’t used the entire kit yet.

  • Jammie says:

I might give this a shot I recently tried to purchase a whitening kit from my dentist and when I saw the price I almost fainted. He charges $128 for the take home whitening kit I simply smiled an said no thank you!

  • Beth Shepherd says:
    5 stars

Awesome kit, and the results are fantastic. I will say this, don’t go overboard when adding the peroxide gel to the whitening tray’s, all you need is a small dab for each tooth.

  • Christina says:
    5 stars

I’ve used this kit before, I think you said it best “you get what you pay for”.

  • Jen says:

    Very impressive!

  • Rose Bumgarner says:

I wish I had something bad to say about this product since I believe there is no such thing as a perfect product (and no, this product is not perfect) I simply can’t really think of any flaws that stand out. The results were really impressive and that’s the whole point of purchasing the kit in the first place. Instructions we clear and concise and straight forward, the only thing I can say negative about this product is that you need to be very careful when creating the mouth trays because the only tricky part about this process is creating them.
The instructions are straight forward but if you are like me and neglect to read instructions before using a product I can almost guarantee you’ll end up ruining them. So make sure you read the instructions at least 2x before using.

  • Nina says:

I really wish that they sold this in stores, I really hate having to wait for products to be shipped.

  • James Mills says:

Lisa, first I want to say your results are amazing and I hope mines comes out as well as yours. Second thing is, you are right about these blue LED lights, I don’t really trust them. I know a lot of people who won’t purchase kits unless they come with an LED light. The thing is just about all of them are a gimmick, dentist use a high power LED lights which are capable of producing hundreds of watts. There is no way in hell those little LED lights found in whitening kits are actually doing anything effective to whiten your teeth. They would not be able to reach a high enough temperature to really do anything. I think a lot of people are being fooled by these blue LEDs.

  • Alyse says:

I wish I had the patience to test out all these different products like you do.

  • Ruby Estevez says:

How much does it cost you to review all of the products?

    • Lisa says:

Hi Ruby, Lol, A LOT. I think only 1 company has ever sent me an item for free to review, everything else was purchased with my own money.

  • Adam Hernandes says:

I wish they shipped to the U.k

  • Connie R. Sayles says:

Anyone know of any discount codes?

    • Lisa says:

Hi Connie, I don’t think you’ll find any discount codes since they are currently already running a sale but I could be wrong. I know I paid $49 (if I remember correctly) for this kit because there was no sale at the time. The sale price is $7 which is cheap enough as it is.

  • Tammy says:

I’ll purchase this for the reason that it uses carbomide peroxide, people do yourself a favor NEVER purchase any whitening product that does not contain carbomide peroxide. There is a reason why dentist uses it when performing teeth whitening. All that other crap are just a waste of time and money.

  • Richard says:

I have prom coming up soon so I might be buying this.

  • Micheal McDowell says:
    4 stars

I’m going to give this product 4 stars right off the bat and here’s why, I purchased a teeth whitening kit from amazon last month and despite it having good reviews the product was JUNK. The name of the product was “Shine Whitening Teeth Whitening Kit” and all I can say is stay away from this product. The mouth trays that’s included in this product are complete crap. When trying to create them, they shrunk in the water to the point that they were unusable. I did not even bother using the kit and threw them away.
The trays that came with the true whitening kit seems to be the complete opposite and made of much better quality even when I first got them in the mail, the quality of the trays seem to be made out of much thicker higher quality medical grade silicone. I haven’t use the whitening kit but I honestly felt compelled to leave the review about the trays since the last 2 kits’ I’ve purchased from other manufactures were complete crap.

  • Robert says:

    Any discount codes?

  • Sheila Creagh says:

I contacted support and they told me that they recommend you wear the trays for 30 minutes to get the best results, is that how long you wore it for?

  • Vivian White says:

Can you tell me if it’s travel size meaning if it can fit in an average sized makeup bag? I travel a lot so I’m looking for something that’s not only effective but portable as well.

  • That's Ms.Eleanor To You says:

I just purchased 2, don’t really know how long the sale will last. Hope I achieve the same results.

  • Rudy Peterson says:
    5 stars

My favorite kit by far, defiantly worth the price tag.

  • Debbie says:

Do you know if they ship internationally?

  • Pamela says:
    2 stars

The irritation kind of seem a bit intolerable to me so I just stopped using it.

  • Robbie says:

    Seems like a great company.

  • Maria Baxter says:
    5 stars

5 out of 5 for me, works as described and I virtually felt no irritation what so ever, I didn’t even need to use the included vitamin e swabs. The end results are fantastic, my husband immediately noticed the difference compared to the other products I’ve used in the past.

  • Patricia Bryson says:

Lisa you have a real pretty smile.

  • Paula Tha Great says:

I’ve seen this product on facebook but I never really paid them much attention.

  • Richard Campbell says:

Hey Lisa you mind telling me what toothpaste you use?

  • Traci says:

Sucks that they’re never in stock, don’t know if this is a gimmick or what but every time I visit their site they seem to be out of stock. I was only able to place an order yesterday after a week of wait. This better be worth it!

  • Mark says:

Your teeth really do look amazing.

  • MaryFagan says:

Is this the same kit that Kim K was using on Instagram?

    • Lisa says:

Hi Mary, unfortunately I don’t “keep up with the kardashians” lol, so I really don’t have a clue.

  • Susan says:
    5 stars

Just want to share my experience with the true whitening kit, to start off I would say that yes it is worth it. I’ve been using the kit for only 9 days every day for 15 minutes each day and the results are stunning:

I’m more than happy with the results.

  • Gloria Payne says:

Hey Lisa I contacted True Whitening and they told me that they would have international shipping in a few months, which products would you say comes a second compared to the True Whitening kit?

    • Lisa says:

Hi Gloria, I would just wait it out because in my opinion it would be worth the wait but if you can’t for whatever reason then I would recommend you checkout the crest whitening strips.

  • Julia says:

I’m not that into the whole teeth whitening thing but I know my friend uses or should I say used this kit. I don’t know if she still uses it or not.

  • Stacy Watson says:
    4 stars

I’ve gotten similar results to yours, you can’t go wrong with true whitening.

  • Zachary Summy says:

I’ll probably check them out later.

  • Suzanne says:

Wow, you’ve tried over 35 different whitening products? Aren’t you scared about the possible damage if you happen to use the wrong product?

    • Lisa says:

Hi Suzanne, I don’t really worry about the risk since I’m not the only one testing products. With the exception of the True Whitening Kit, the last product I tested personally was a year ago (which is why my before photos are pretty yellow) I usually find someone who wants to whiten their teeth, purchase the kit for them and have them send me the data such as how easy it was, what went wrong, pics, etc….

It would be pointless to try to whiten teeth that has already been whitened, so I try to find a good baseline (someone who has pretty yellowish teeth) so that way we can really see the true power of a particular whitening product without skewing the case study.

  • Joie says:

How long have they been around? I’ve never heard of them before.

  • William Robinson says:

Hey Lisa, what ever happened to that free teeth whitening e-book you were planning on releasing?

  • Mimi Connors says:

Just got mines in the mail today, SUPER EXCITED!!!! Will defiantly let you know how it goes.

  • Bruce Valentine says:

I purchased this kit purely because the ingredients seem to be pretty safe, people are so infatuated with getting a deal and saving money that they don’t realized the importance of knowing what the hell is going into their mouths. If you read half of what goes into some teeth whitening products such as Luster Pro Light Teeth Whitening System, you would do the same. Pro Light has Alcohol Denat which is poisonous even deadly if swallowed… Ahh… NO THANKS!

I’ll stick with True Whitening. Also, just an FYI I haven’t used the kit yet since it did not yet arrive so I can’t really give a rating but based on other reviews I read I’m it will be fine.

  • Juliana says:

Hey lisa I notice you’ve haven’t updated the facebook page in a while any particular reason why?

  • Ernest says:

Interesting company to say the least.

  • Debra Brenner says:

Just place an order last night let’s see how it goes.

  • Tracy says:

I might give this a shot; I haven’t whitened my teeth in quite a while.

  • Loretta says:

Were the instructions included easy to follow? That’s the problem I had with whitening kits in the past.

    • Lisa says:

Hi Loretta, yes the instructions are clear and pretty straight forward, I don’t think you’ll have a problem.
